megan hoey studied at london college of fashion for her bachelors in fashion design womenswear and masters in fashion cultures and histories, while also completing an internship at simone rocha. as someone who has always been viewed as hyper-feminine and sweet, she is influenced by girlhood but also her lived experiences, treatment, and desires. by combining her talents for design, creative direction and social critique, megan created a brand which mindfully explores femininity.
gentle? resilient? otherworldly? she doesn’t attempt to answer the unanswerable question, but creates space for dialogue and exploration. megan hoey is a brand where both herself and hopefully others can delve into what gender means for them.
the brand confronts ways in which the fashion industry and consumerism falls short. the intention is to be thoughtful of the pace we produce, return value to under-valued labour, and support those capitalism fails.
